Linda Jean Pierce was born on July 13, 1954 in Westmoreland County to Delorise Pierce and the late Morris "Buck" Hodge. At an early age she gave her life to Christ and joined the First Baptist Church of Colonial Beach, VA. She attended Westmoreland County Public Schools and was a lifelong devoted member of the Colonial Beach Rescue Squad, Moose Lodge, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Linda was loved by all and truly a great woman. Her hobbies included: cooking, singing, and dancing. She was always there for her family every step of the way to help supply their every need. She was a dear friend, mentor, source of light and, joy and strength to her family and community. One would say that she had an affectionate smile and was always dressed to impress. Her life reflected the saying, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."
She transitioned to eternal life on Sunday, March 24, 2013, joining her father and sister Darlene Pierce in heaven.
Loving memories of Linda will continue to live on in the hearts of her surviving family: Her special devoted lifelong partner of 44 years Samuel "Pryor" Bushrod; three daughters, Angula Pierce *Roye* of Fredericksburg, Francine Lucas (Larry) and Constance Pierce of Colonial Beach; one son, Jamaine Pierce (Jessica) of Fredericksburg; six grandchildren, Champaign, Markeya, Tremeya, Gabrielle, Jay'Lon, and Tierra; three sisters, Teresa Parker (John) of Montross, Evelena Coleman of King George, Elouise McDowney (James) of Port Royal; three brothers, Morris Pierce (Melinda) and Aloysius Pierce both of Colonial Beach, Floyd Pierce (Ehemiah) of Montross; a special son, Antonio Hayes and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Linda touched the lives of many. The life she built will be greatly missed and remembered with respect and love by the people who knew her.
