Lillian B. Sorrell

Lillian Beatrice Sorrell, daughter of the late Thomas Johnson and Martha Allen was born November 7, 1934 in King George, Virginia. She departed this life, on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at Mary Washington Hospital after a long illness. She was a 1952 graduate of Ralph Bunche High School. At an early age she accepted Christ and joined Little Ark Baptist Church. In 1999, she transferred her membership to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, King George under the pastorate of Rev. Pitt. Lillian loved to cook, shop and enjoy special times with her family. Before her health began to fail, she provided day care for children in her home. Lillian will be remembered as a quiet lady with a heart of gold, that would give her last, to anyone in need.

She leaves to cherish her memory four sons: Lewis Sorrell, Jr. (Rose) of Kennsaw, Georgia, Anthony Sorrell (Monique) of McDonough, Georgia, Jerry and Ronnie Sorrell of King George; four daughters: Kathy Cooper (Michael) of King George, Dana Sorrell of Georgia, Amy Shorter of Indian Head, Maryland and Sonya Middleton (Joseph) of King George; twenty-five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters: Gwendolyn Johnson of Georgia and Caroline Morton (Leslie) of Bowling Green; a special friend of the family, James Monroe of Indian Head, Maryland; two special friends, Mary Ann Crawley and Thelma Cooper; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
