Leon Franklin Harley, 87, of Dahlgren transitioned from earthly life to eternal life on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on July 29, 1930 in Washington, D.C. to the late Bertha Johnson Harley. Leon was a retired auto mechanic and master carpenter working his entire career in the Washington Metropolitan Area. He was a member and served on the Usher Board Ministry of the Union Bethel Baptist Church in King George, VA. Leon was also a die-hard Washington Redskins Fan.

Leon is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years Lois Johnson Harley of Dahlgren; two sons: Aaron L. Harley of Clinton, MD and Howard Johnson of Washington, D.C; five daughters: Sonya P. Harley of Waldorf, MD, Michele D. Harley of Reston, VA, Karen Harley of Upper Marlboro, MD, Deborah Wright of Richmond, VA and Bonnie Harley-Smith (Larry) of Spotsylvania, VA; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, mothers and sister-in-law, cousins and friends.
