Lawrence A. Johnson

Lawrence A. Johnson, Jr., known by family and friends as J.R., born December 11, 1961, in San Antonio, TX, departed this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Spotsylvania Regional Hospital, Spotsylvania, VA.

J.R. is survived by and leaves to mourn, his loving mother Dottie B. Johnson, his loving father Lawrence A. Johnson, Sr., along with his stepmother Gloria and grandfather Abraham Byrd of Colonial Beach, VA.

J.R. will be dearly missed by his sister Janice of Clinton, MD; brother Christopher of Lompoc, CA and his one and only beloved nephew Andre' of Los Angeles, CA, who was extremely held near and dear to J.R.'s heart. J.R. has also left behind to grieve his extended family of aunts and uncles, Elenora Norris of Dahlgren, VA, JoAnne Bland-Barnes, Joan and Alphine Freeman both of Houston, TX, William and Laurie Bland of King George, VA, Ella Byrd-Hinton of Fredericksburg, VA, Mrs. Irma Jackson of Dahlgren, VA, whom J.R., with sincerity called "Moms."

J.R. held a special place in his heart for each of his aunts, uncles and cousins. His special cousin and "shadow" Al Holliman, cousin Keith Johnson and his baby cousin Arianna Douglas, who never wanted to leave his arms, will always love and remember J.R. in their special ways.

J.R. will also be sadly missed by his special friends Charlie Ellis, Rodney Jackson, William Pryor and host of cousins, friends and family members; yet his heart was big enough to love them all. J.R. was truly a loving son, brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed, loved and forever remembered.
