Juanita S. Washington

As faithfully as the Lord gave life to Juanita Scranage Washington on October 9, 1916, He sent His angels of mercy on September 8, 2011 to the Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center to give her eternal rest.

Juanita was one of seven children born to Edward and Addie Scranage of King George County, Virginia. She was a lifetime member of Little Ark Baptist Church where she served as a nurse, belonged to the Pastors Aid Ministry, and Culinary Ministry. She also took care of the white for the pulpit every 1st Sunday and she continued to do so until this year after so many years of dedication. Her first love was God and her second love was her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Nathaniel L. Washington and her three siblings, Mary S. Clark, Edward Scranage, Jr. and Clara S. Bland.

Juanita leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory one daughter Frances W. Holliman (Alfred), two grandchildren Keith L. Johnson and Cassandra Johnson Norris, four great-grandchildren, Natasha S. Johnson (Don), Keith L. Johnson, Jr., Nathan Johnson and Nathaniel Johnson, three great-great- grandchildren, Jordan Johnson, Jayden Johnson, and Talaira Johnson. She also had extended grandchildren who loved her dearly, Yvette Holmes, Stephanie Rice (Kenneth), Tracy Holliman and Lynn Reed (Wes), and numerous great grandchildren. Her sisters Margie and Pansy Bumbrey, her brother Perry L. Scranage, Sr. (Mary) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
