Joseph E. Jackson was born on April 22, 1931 in Rexburg, Va. to the late Richard and Blanche Jackson. ''Joe'' received his education at the old Rexburg School.
In 1953, he married his former wife, Ruth H. Jackson. Three sons were born from this union. He was affectionately known by many names (''Joe Shorty'', ''DollBaby'', and ''Shockwave'')and possessed various talents and skills.
Early in his adult life, he drove for Essex Public Schools, attended Barber School, and became a Barber. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and operated the Coo Coo's Nest for several years. He owned and operated Jackson's Trucking in the late 60's and early 70's. Until his failing health, he was an active Disc Jockey, well known as ''Shockwave''. He loved baseball and was an avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan.
Joe's survivors include a loyal friend (former wife) Ruth H. Jackson; four sons, Levy, Lionell, Tony and Charles; two daughters-in-laws, Cobenia and Linda; two brothers, Lewis and Roosevelt; three grandchildren, Anthony, Destiny and Yvonne; one great-grandchild, Simone; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
