John O Beverly

On November 23, 2014 our beloved father entered peacefully into eternal rest at Sligo Creek Nursing Home in Takoma Park MD. John O. Beverly, Sr. was born on October 2, 1933 in King and Queen County, VA. He was the youngest child of Chassie and Cassie Beverly. At an early age, he accepted Christ and was baptized at St. John Baptist Church, Milford, Virginia.

John O served in the U.S. Army where he played baseball and was a graduate of Armstrong Adult Education in Washington DC. On December 26, 1956 John O was united in holy matrimony to Dorothy Wright from Caroline County and from this blessed union two children were born. Delma and John Jr., John O would always say "I have all I need, a beautiful wife and children".

Employed and retired from the Central Intelligence Agency in McLean VA after 35 years of service.

Dad was a very generous and proud man. He was always there when you needed him and never said no. He was always there for his wife and children. He was also, a hard worker. My father believed in hard work which made the unbelievable, believable and proved that there is nothing you can't do if you believe and work hard.

John O leaves to mourn his passing, his two children, daughter Delma V. Owens and his son John O. Beverly, Jr; two grandchildren, Mia and John-Michael Beverly; one brother Edward Beverly (Madge); two sisters, Alice Washington and Eleanor Square; one daughter in-law Juana Beverly; son in-law Gregory Proctor; two godsons, Robert Jones and Jeremy Daniels and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and close friends.

John O would like to express a special thank you to his sisters Alice Washington and Eleanor Square, his nieces Jackie Ford, Dollie Adams, Myrtle Carey and Iris Jones. Your thoughtfulness and help touched him.
