On Tuesday Oct 1st, at 8:25pm, John Bennie Barbour II gained his wings. In his final days on earth he was surrounded by family.
John was born on August 5th, 1968 in Charles County Maryland to the late Elizabeth Ann Thompson, David M. (Sharon) Neal, and Father John Bennie (Sylvia) Barbour Sr. He is preceded to Glory by his brother Charles (Ricci) Richard Lee III, and sisters Elizabeth Thompson and Nikko Price, along with his daughters Yolanda Barbour and Keyonia Barbour. He leaves behind, to cherish his memory, his daughter Kimberly (Darius) Medley and siblings Rose Ferguson, Patricia (Harry) Gross, Barbara Hagens, William Barbour, John (Nichol) Barbour, Tony (Shawn) Barbour, Tyonda Taylor, Jackie Neal, Charlene (Gregory) Briscoe, Arlene Neal, David Neal, Robert Neal, Michelle Thomas, Shalyce (Chad) Smith, Amarie Proctor, and John Roberts. This includes his three grandchildren Christopher John Medley, Kensley Elizabeth Ann Medley, and Joshua Troy Medley, plus a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as friends.
John was a die-hard Washington Commanders fan. He loved to smile and have a good laugh. He was an amazing storyteller and loved cracking jokes. He was the happiest surrounded by family and friends, with a good game of spades going. He always enjoyed summers filled with cookouts and fishing with family. He worked for McDonald’s and various other retail jobs. He was a father figure to many and loved to help when he could. His favorite color was blue and red, but when his daughter would ask he would always say “whatever yours is, baby girl”. He is truly loved and will be dearly missed.
The Family will be taking donations in the form of cash or cashiers check made out to the funeral home.
