Joanna N Fausey

Joanna N. Fausey passed away Sunday, June 21st, at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. after a short illness.

Born in Sunbury, Pennsylvania on July 22nd, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Dean and Mary Brosious Nicholas.

A graduate of Sunbury High School, class of 1953, she was a member of St. Lukes Luthern church in Sunbury.

She was employed as an Administrative Assistant by the Department of Education in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and by TRAILCO, in Hummels Wharf, Pennsylvania from 1953 to 1961.

She married Richard L. Fausey in 1961 and moved to Dahlgren, Virginia where she raised three wonderful daughters, Debbie Fausey of King George, Virginia, Patricia Riester (John) of Richmond, Virginia and Pamela Plaatsman (Steve), also of Richmond, Virginia. Over the years she was very close to her five grandchildren and loved them dearly.

Joanna was a frequent volunteer for the Red Cross Bloodmobile and loved reading, bicycle riding, shopping, socializing, traveling and spending time with her family. She was a beautiful person; very outgoing and ready to volunteer help to anyone who had a need.

She will be sorely missed, not only by her family, but also by all of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

She was proceeded in death by her brother, Phillip A. Nicholas.

A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lloyd P. Moss Free Clinic in Fredericksburg, Virginia in her memory.
