Mr. Jasper Earl Bell was born to the late Charlie and Jannie Bell in Mansfield, N.C. on November 4, 1935. He died on February 18, 2013. He was the youngest of seventeen children (nine sisters and seven brothers) who preceded him in death.
Jasper was educated in Mansfield N.C. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force. In 1955 while stationed in Fort Worth, Texas, he met and married Sammie Jean Robinson. To this union they had six children in which one son; Vincent Earl Bell preceded him in death
Upon completion of is military tour of duty, Jasper and his family moved to Washington D.C., where he became a taxi driver, and later a Federal Airport Police Officer with the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration). After years of service with FAA, he became a United States Marshall where he retired after many years of service with Department of Justice.
Jasper accepted Christ early in life in Mansfield, N.C. After moving to Washington, D.C., he and his family united with the East Friendship Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and served as a trustee until his health started to decline. His love for God was demonstrated by his love and dedication to family. He believed in the power and strength of family. He also believed in demonstrating his Christian walk through his interaction with family, friends, and colleagues.
After years of hospitalization at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home in Charlotte Hall, MD; Jasper peacefully passed away in the afternoon of February 18, 2013
Japer is survived by his devoted wife Sammie Jean; sons, Kenneth (Celestine), Ronald (Shirley), Rev. Michael T. (Faith), Douglas (Cynthia), and daughter, Pamela Pitts (Wyman); grandchildren, LaShawn, Kenneth II, Tiffany Khristian, Tamia, Raymond, Michael C., Israel, Dominique, Nia, Ashley, Letrevis, Jas, Moriah, Amaris, Simone; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
