James T. Harris

James T. (Tim) Harris slipped quietly into eternal rest on Sunday, June 27, 2004 in Retreat Hospital in Richmond approximately 6:30 p.m.

''Tim'' as he was known to everyone was born on January 18, 1918 to the late Frank and Mary Elizabeth (Hooper) Harris in Essex County. He joined New Liberty Baptist Church in Caroline County at an early age and continue to worship there until his death. He worked as a Laborer for 70 years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Harris.

Tim was a devoted husband for 60 years to the late Laura B. Harris, a loving father to four daughters, Althena Harris of Manassas, Va.; Mary Ann Taylor of Caret, Va.; Clara Lee Byrd of Champlain, Va.; Ernestine Newbill (Johnny) of Tappahannock, Va.; four sons, Earl T. Harris (Eartha) of Woodbridge, Va.; Levi Harris (Helen) of Lorton, Va.; Don Harris of Supply, Va.; Rex Harris (Tinka) of Woodford, Va.; one brother, Harold Harris of Pennsgrove, N. C.; two sisters, Gertrude Hickman and Mable Tyler of Woodstown, N.J.; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Nominee Harris, Odell Bundy, Iona Bundy, Irma Hill and Francis Pratt all of Tappahannock, Va.; one brother-in-law, Thomas Pratt of Tappahannock, Va.; a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
