James P. Johnson

James Preston Johnson was the son of the late James and Rebecca Woolfolk Johnson. He departed this life into peaceful rest on November 23, 2003 at his home, in Ruther Glen, Virginia, after a lenghty illness.

He received his education from the public schools of Caroline County. He joined the Second Baptist Church in Ruther Glen, Virginia in his early teens.

He was employed with the R.F. & P. Railroad for twenty three years. Upon his retirement, he worked for Elliott Enterprises for a number of years.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Elizabeth Johnson; one daughter, Otelia (Tee) and her husband Leslie Scott; three sons, Preston Revell and his wife Susan; James Ricky;
Steve Everett and his wife Carmella; nine grandchildren, Leticia Boone and her husband, Weldon, Shamika Boukhair and her husband Younes, Megan, Joey, Ricky Jr., Joel, David, Isabella and Trinity Johnson; two great-grandchildren, Lila and Yasmine Boukhair; two brothers, McKoy and Melvin Johnson of Ruther Glen, Virginia; five sisters-in-laws; six brothers-in-laws; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
