James L. Jordan

James L. Jordan

James Lewis Jordan, son of the late Mary Lucy and Daniel W. Jordan was born on January 14, 1929 in King George, Virginia. He departed this life into a peaceful rest on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at his home in King George, Virginia.

He received his education from the King George Training School at Edgehill, Virginia; he joined in holy matrimony to the former Lucille M. Jett on July 11, 1952 from this union seven daughters were born.

He worked in Dale City as a painter and later was employed by Hylton Enterprises in Woodbridge, Virginia until retiring in 1980. After retiring he became self-employed and continued his profession serving customers in King George County.

He loved fishing, hunting, cooking, watching wrestling, being with family and friends. He was also very skillful in many areas such as carpentry, tiling, customizing counter tops in his spare time for home. He was preceded in death by his wife Lucille M. Jordan.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Loretta Buckner John, Arlene Davis, Vernice Johnson, Brenda, Leslie, Vickie Jordan of Dahlgren and Maricha Anderton of Milford; eleven grandchildren; two grandchildren-in-law; five great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; three brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and two nieces Geraldine Jackson and Shirley Waddy and one newphew Webster and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
