In as much as it has pleased Almighty God to has taken from our midst our beloved Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather James E. Young Sr.
We bow in humble submission to his will and pay tribute to his memory today.
James E. Young Sr. was born on January 12, 1912 in Farmville, Virginia to the Late Willie and Emma Young. He departed this life on Monday, March 24, 2003 at 12:02 am at his home in Caroline County.
He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in the Amelia Baptist Church, Rice, Va.
After leaving home, he moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where he met and married Orlean Evans and from this union eleven children were born. He later moved his membership to Second Mt. Calvary to be with his wife.
James was employed with Crown-Cork and Seal in Baltimore, MD. At the request of his wife they moved to Virginia, to care for his Mother-in-Law. He worked with United Masonary and Caroline County School System until he retired.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of sixty years Orlean Young of Bowling Green, VA;, his children, three sons James E. Young Jr. (Mary) of St. Stephens Church, VA; William T. Young (Rose) of Essex, VA, and Richard L. Young (Virginia) of Newtown, VA, eight daughters: Orlean Johnson, of Lorton, VA, Jean Jones of Houston, TX, Estelle Dabney, of Charlotte, NC; Joyce Garth (Johnny) of Chattanooga, TN; Janice Young of Oxon Hill, MD; Roberta Hopkins, of Landover, MD; Pamela Beasley (Jared) of Bowling Green, VA, and April Brickle of Temple, TX. Twenty-two Grandchildren, Nine Great-grand children, Two Nieces Betty and Thelma, five Sister-in-Laws, Joyce Ray, Gloria Howard, Louise Wingfield, Helen Evans, Sandy Evans; Four Brother-in-Laws, Howard Wingfield,Ernest, Richard, and Jesse Evans. Many devoted nieces, nephews, and cousins. A devoted and special friend, Kevin Young, who was always there for him.
We are greatful to God for the gift of his life and the privilege to have shared many very special moments with him. These influences will live in our memories forever.
As we believe in a God of infinite love and mercy, we the family accept his death as a spiritual awakening, beckoning us onward to immortality.
