Irving whiting was born September 9, 1954 to Elizabeth Whiting and the late Willie George Whiting in King George County. Irving departed this life peacefully on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at his residence.
He attended Ralph Bunch Public School. He worked for Whit Packing Co. for many years until it closed. He then began working for William Hazel Co. for about 15 years.
He loved to play horseshoes and shoot the breeze with his family and friends. Also, anyone that knew him knows that nothing could take the place of the love of his music. He was a D.J. for many years.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his mother, Elizabeth Whiting of King George; daughter, Victoria Smith of Fredericksburg; Grandchildren: Sharmaine Smith and Trayvon Scott; Sisters: Belinda, Grady, LaVerne Brooks, Roberta Shanklin-Harper, Christine Whiting; Brother-in-law John Brooks; Aunts: Gladys Pryor, Winnie Bell Pryor, Dorothy Washington (Lloyd, Jr), Mable Yancy, and Shirley Whiting; Uncle Charles Edelen, host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Two special friends: Theresa Howard and Desi Jackson.
