IN LOVING MEMORY OF THE WORLD'S GREATEST MOM
THE LIFE OF A SERVANT
Mrs. Irene C. Forman, affectionately known as "Ma Rene" entered Heaven's gate on Wednesday December 19, 2012. The youngest child of Willie and Mary Covington, she was born February 22, 1924 in Supply, Essex County, Virginia. Irene's early childhood was filled with hardship and struggle, however, she prevailed through fortitude and faith in God She graduated from the public Schools of Essex County and God blessed her with knowledge and great wisdom. She later married Linwood Jackson Sr., who preceded her in death. They were parents to seven children.
In spite of her afflictions, Irene was known for her beautiful smile and pleasant personality. She demonstrated her devotion, love, and dedication to her family by often working numerous jobs, household chores, and caring for aging parents. In fact, Irene was a mother to many other children in the neighborhood. She was unassuming and everyone loved her for her genuine compassion for others. She had a master's degree in LOVE!
She married the late Harold Forman and moved to Browns Mill, New Jersey and attended Union Baptist Church, Bordentown, New Jersey. After his demise, the latter days of her life were enjoyed with her children in King George and Spotsylvania, Virginia. She then returned to her home church, Ebenezer. Irene didn't accumulate riches and fame, but lived a life of humility and faith.
She was employed by numerous businesses in the communities of Port Royal, Bowling Green, and King George, to include The Pancake House, (formerly The Glass House) and Horne's Restaurant. She had a passion for cooking and serving others with a smile.
Irene's strong Christian foundation was laid by her early childhood teachings to love family and those around the community, especially Ebenezer Baptist Church. She believed and acted upon her heart's desire to fulfill Jesus' command "to love others as yourself". This birthed devotion in sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others, and marked her as a woman of faith and a model of the virtuous woman as described in Proverbs 31. She remained faithful to her calling and her church family, until recently when her health began to fail. She loved to sing and joined several of the musical choruses in the church, the Singing Disciples, Missionary Circle and Sunday School. She volunteered in any capacity to help.
She is survived by her children: James Jackson, Forestville, Maryland, Phyllis Pollard (Carl), Gladys Sumter (Leon), Donald Jackson (Sandra) all of Spotsylvania, Wayne Jackson (Flora), Lillian Jackson of King George, Virginia; nineteen Grandchildren; numerous Great and Great-Great grandchildren; Special friends: Mrs. Gladys Fortune of Port Royal, Virginia, Mrs. Fannie Lee, Mr. & Mrs. Sterling Lee both of King George, Virginia, and Mrs. Hattie Johnson of Supply, Virginia.
