Hazel Othella Wise

Hazel Othella Wise, affectionately called "Pinky" was born to the Hazel Shelton Wise and the late Melvin C. Wise on January 17, 1959 in Neenah, Va. She received her education at Hampton Institute for the Deaf and the Blind in Hampton, Va. "Pinky" was baptized at an early age at Galilee Baptist Church in Montross, Va. Later in life after moving to Port Royal, she joined Union Bethel Baptist Church in King George, VA.

"Pinky" was a kind and fun loving person who enjoyed being around her family and friends. She had a smile for everyone she met. "Pinky" had a real love for doing hair, she could do cornrows and braids in any style you wanted or didn't know about. She kept her children, friends, and neighbors in them until her health began to decline in August, 2008. She fought her battle with cancer until the early morning of June 18 at 4:45am, while walking in her earthly garden, Our Heavenly Father noticed a beautiful flower, "Pinky". He made a decision to pluck this beautiful flower from his garden. We will sadly miss the smell and beauty of that flower, but we realize that she is now in full bloom in Heaven.

She leaves to Cherish her memories, her loving mother Hazel M. Wise, of Montross, Va. her devoted and loving fiancé Wilton Smith Jr. of Port Royal, Va. Four loving children, Cassandra, Shanice ("Niecey"), Beondra, and Son, Travis D. Wise. Five loving sisters Peaches, Ruth, Melvin (Robert) Kelly, Penny (Ralph) Hunter, Linda (Frank) Day. Two loving brothers Tony (Teresa) Shelton, Butch (Valerie) Shelton. Three loving grandchildren Tirrell Jr., Dae'Vionn, and Ke'Von. Special grandfather William "Arthur" Carey of Sharps, Va. Three special aunts Mamie (Allen) Hickman, Teen(Sterling), Evette (Alvin). Two special uncles Robert(Princess) Wise Jr., Al (Debra)Carey. Eight special nieces Tanya, Latanya, Kasey, Tia, Licia, Tyka, Sharease, and Lutrice. Three special nephews Derek Shelton, Jamaal Wise, Rashaud Hunter. A host of other aunts, uncles, great aunts, great uncles, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, friends and to her extended family Mrs. Alice Smith, Yvonne, Corey, Troy, Tweety, Tasha, Delvon, and four stepgrandchildren that she cared for as her own.
