Harvey W. Brown, Sr.

Very quietly and peacefully on Sunday, July 29, 2007, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom, gently closed the eyes of our devoted father and he entered into His eternal rest.

Harvey Wilson Brown, Sr. son of the late Harvey L. and Grace L. Brown was born March 9, 1930 in Caroline County, Virginia.

Harvey attended Caroline County Public Schools. He was joined in holy matrimony on April 29, 1949 to the late Audrey Moore Brown. To this union four children were born.

At an early age, Harvey accepted Christ and joined Beulah Baptist Church and attended until his health began to fail.

To know Harvey was to love him. His friendly and humorous demeanor made him the well liked and unforgettable person he was. He took great pride in his family, friends, and business.

Over fifty years ago, with God’s guidance and direction, Harvey and his beloved wife Audrey stepped out on faith and established Brown’s Gas. Later, he joined forces with his sons and established Harvey W. Brown and Sons Trucking. Today, still, it is a full service station providing good conversation with friends and memories and otherwise a good meeting place.

Harvey was preceded in death by one son, Larry Lee Brown and his beloved wife, Audrey.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one son, Harvey W. Brown, Jr. (Chico) and his wife Carolyn; two daughters, Sharon Brown-Scott and Deborah Brown; two grandsons, Harvey W. Brown III (Tres') and Cory D. Brown; three devoted sisters,
Lelia Carter, Cora Coates and her husband Walter and Gloria Chapman and her husband Carl; a devoted sister-in-law, Mary McPhatter and her husband, McKinley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
