Obituary: Harry P. Chapman

Harry P. Chapman was born on December 22, 1942 to Harry E. Chapman and Dora A. Sudduth Chapman, both deceased, in Akron, Ohio. Harry died May 17, 2020 at age 77.

He graduated from Buchtel High School in 1960 and graduated from Norfolk State University as an undergraduate with a degree in Business and later with a Master’s degree in Business. Also earning a Master’s degree from Emory-Riddle Aeronautical University in Aeronautical Science.

Harry joined the United States Navy and retired as a Chief Air Traffic Controller.

He worked for many years as a technology supervisor for Apex Technology.

He was married to the love of his life Betty Singleton Chapman for
Nearly 58 years. They have two daughters April L. Collins (David) and
September D. Sanderlin (Winfred).

They have four biological, three adopted and five step grandchildren and . Antony L. Chapman, Autumn L. Cobb (Nate), Ariyan L. Chapman, Christian P. Sanderlin, Anthony Brown, Elijah and Brianna Collins, Courtney Collins, David Collins Jr., Tasha Robinson, CheLisa Jackson and Winfred Sanderlin III.

He was preceded in death by brothers Eric Chapman and Louis Chapman and sister Beatrice Chapman, he is survived by his dear sister Carol Howlett. Also a brother-in-law Watson Singleton (Eileen).

He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews and cousins and many other relatives and friends who will deeply feel his loss.
