Gloria Denise Samuel

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26

Gloria Denise Samuel (Gordy) departed this life on September 3, 2018 at VCU Hospital in Richmond, VA. Gloria was born May 15, 1964 to the late Carey Samuel Jr. (Shortie) and the late Georgianna Coleman Samuel. She received her education in Caroline County Public Schools. Gloria joined Saint James Baptist Church at an early age. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary V. Samuel.

Gloria was a loving and devoted mother. She leaves to cherish her loving memory, four children, Temecia Samuel (Ladysmith, VA), Brittany Samuel (Bowling Green, VA), Anthony Monte Samuel (Ladysmith, VA), and Te’quan Samuel (Bowling Green, VA); one sister, Angela Samuel (Bowling Green, VA); two brothers, Steven Samuel (Bowling Green, VA) and Stacy Samuel (Richmond, VA); four grandchildren, Damecia Applewhite, Darryl Applewhite III, Makyia Young and Jah’mier Few; two nieces, Chanel and Chalae Samuel; one nephew, Xavier Samuel; one aunt, Carolyn Coleman Alsop and many other relatives and friends. She also leaves her devoted friends, Francis Washington, Walker Taylor, Linda Sims, Teresa Turner, Leticia Brown and special friend known to Gloria as a devoted sister, June Turner.
