Glen S. Davis

Today we celebrate the life of Glen Stanley Davis who was born September 18, 1948 to the late Sarah Christine Washington. On Saturday, September 10, 2016 the Lord chose to call his faithful servant home to rest.

Glen was preceded in death by his mother Sarah C. Washington, his brother Gordon L. Washington and his grandfather Richard Davis.

Glen accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and was baptized at Little Ark Baptist Church. He served as usher for many years and remained faithful in that role until his death.

Glen graduated from Ralph Bunch in King George County. He served in the United States Army from June 10, 1968 to June 9, 1970. He was employed at the Naval Surface Warfare Center and retired after 33 years. He was also employed by ECC A1.

Glen was a man who loved his family, especially his son and grandchildren. He was caring, giving and always willing to help others. He never acted with a selfish bone in his body and touched so many lives with his gentle loving and giving spirit. Glen spent his last day doing what he loved, cleaning and detailing cars. He felt there was no car he could not bring back to life. That love was also shared by two of his brothers.

Among those who grieve his loss and cherish his memory are: his son, Rashid Abdul Jalal, his grandchildren Tylexis Reynolds of Montross, Virginia; Makayla Jalal, Tymir Jalal and Joshua Jalal of Fredericksburg, Virginia. He is survived by his siblings: Michael Davis (Carol) of Richmond, Virginia; Levon Davis, Sarah Beverly (Carroll), Robert Washington (Etta), Wesley Washington (Theresa), and Dennis Washington of King George, Virginia; a great uncle Zack Thomas; ex-wife and friend Beatrice Davis; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many other friends. He also leaves to mourn a very special friend Laverne Turner.
