Gladys A. Shade

Gladys Angelo Shade was born on October 23, 1944 in Shiloh, Maryland and was raised by the late Robert & Nannie Brown. Gladys departed this life peacefully on September 13, 2017 at her residence in King George, Virginia. Gladys accepted Christ at an early age at Shiloh Community United Methodist Church under the late Rev. Carter. She was educated in the Charles County Public School System. On December 15, 1961 she entered Holy Matrimony to Ralph Shade, Sr. and was married for thirty two years.

She and her husband later moved to Virginia where she was employed with the Naval Surface Warfare Center for five years. She was also employed with McDonalds and Walmart until her health began to fail. She was a very dedicated hard worker. She joined Good Hope Baptist Church with Christian experience under the leadership of Rev. Robert Williams, Jr.

Gladys loved to sing and put her gift to work by singing with the Voice of Hope. She loved dancing, cleaning, writing poems and music, cooking homemade meals, decorating, planting and styling her clothes. She spoke her mind always. Her favorite scripture was Psalms 23.

Gladys leaves to cherish her memories her former husband, Ralph N. Shade, Sr.; seven children: Ralph Shade, Jr. (Yvette), Elder Mary Cox, Arnold Shade, Eric Shade, Malcolm Shade (Linda), Sandra Brown (Gary), Kimberly Plummer (George) and loving stepson Roger Shade; seventeen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren; three sisters: Shirley Woodbury, Lucille Lewis (James), Agnes Lee; two aunts: Elizabeth Clark and Blanche (Leroy); God daughter, Carolyn Anderson; sister-in-law: Maryagnes Lee (Frankie) Ann Shade, Estelle Penny; brother-in-law Calvin Shade, best friend Callie Hemsley, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
