Frank A. Crew, son of the late Steve and Phyllis Crew was born May 7, 1923 in Washington, Georiga. Peacefully at home on June 12, 2003, he departed this life after a brief illness surrounded by his family.
Frank was preceded in death in 1996 by his wife, Helen L.(Broaddus)Crew after 38 years of marriage. Frank and Helen were the owners of ''Pete's Restaurant'' originally located in Foggy Bottom, Washington, D.C. and later relocated to 14th Street, N.W. After selling the restaurant, Frank kept busy by working for several trucking companies in the Metropolitan Area before finally retiring.
He was a quiet man who spoke his mind from time to time who also loved to hunt, fish, and cook. His minced barbeque was one of his famous dishes along with a special combination of corn, okra, and tomatoes.
Mr. Crew leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter Mildred Crew of Forestville, Maryland, one soon to be son-in-law, Ron Coleman of Forestville, Maryland, one faithful companion and loving dog ''Teddy'' and a host of other relatives and freiends.
Don't grieve for me, for I'm free I'm only following the path that god made for me
He called for me, because He knew that's where I needed to be I'm sorry I couldn't stay around another day To laugh, joke, dance or play If my parting has left a void I ask of you to fill it with remembered joy. Be not burdened with sorrow......For I will greet you with sunshine tomorrow. My life has been full, for I have accomplished much........great friends, great times, and a special loved one's touch. Pour out your heart and share with me my found joy. God need me now, for He has set me free.
In Loving Memory, Your Daughter
Mildred
