Frances M. Coldman

On Friday, November 29, 2013, after a long illness, Mrs. Frances Maxine Coldman passed away from this earthly realm and went to be with our Lord.

She was born on April 4, 1944 one of eight children born to the late Annie and Walker Ferguson of Bowling Green, Virginia.

She was educated in the Caroline County Public School System.

Frances Maxine Coldman was joined in marriage to the late William V. Carter, II and two children were born from this union.

Frances Maxine accepted Christ at an early age; she attended church every Sunday as well as attending weekly Bible Study. She sang on the Bethel Baptist Church Choir. Even when she could no longer get to church, she continued to faithfully praise Him in song and scripture.

She immensely enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and watching her favorite television shows the Walton's, High Chaparral and Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman.

Frances Maxine Coldman with her beautiful smile and convincing spirit was honestly outspoken, gave good advice and encouraged family and friends to excel above their expectations. It was always a pleasure to be in her company.

In her later years, she took care of her mother Annie Laura Ferguson, and her father-in-law Thomas J. Coldman, Sr., until they went to be with the Lord. Whenever called upon she always assisted and took care of Blanche and Charles Boone.

Loving memories of Frances Maxine will continue to live on in the hearts of surviving family members who include one son, William V. Carter, III; one daughter, Michele V. Carter; one grandson, Barry M Smith, Jr.; husband, Thomas J Coldman, Jr.; sisters, Eleanor Queen of Bowling Green, Virginia, Mary L. Williams of Durham, North Carolina, Gloria Gray (Michael) of Fredericksburg, Virginia; one brother, Anthony "Tony" L. Ferguson of Bowling Green, Virginia, two brothers, Arthur Lee Ferguson, John Ferguson and sister, Carol R. Ferguson preceded her in going home. Her legacy also includes: Sister-in-law, Bernice Ferguson; cousins, Doris James and Mary Stephens. She has beautiful nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Among those drawn to her endearing charm are her special friend, Shirley Barry, Rita Braxton, and Collina Wilson. She also enjoyed the friendship and hospitality of good folks at Bon Secour Medical Regional, Sheltering Arms, and Mary Washington Hospice Care of Virginia for their love, care, and support staff. A special thank you to her devoted and loving niece, Veronica Queen.
