Fannie B. Woolfolk

Fannie B. Woolfolk, affectionately known to most as Babysis, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at her residence, two days before her 68th birthday. Babysis was born on March 7, 1956 to the late Freddie and Fannie Brooks.

Babysis accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour at an early age at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Supply, VA where she was an active member and served faithfully. She enjoyed singing on the choir and giving God the glory by raising her hand in praise.

Babysis graduated from Bowling Green High School, Bowling Green, VA in 1974. After graduating, Babysis went on to work at Book Crafters as a Book Binder in Fredericksburg, VA where she retired after 32 years of service.

Babysis met the love of her life while they were in high school. David was truly her soulmate. There was no Babysis without David and no David without Babysis. They were truly meant for each other, and they both had Godly love for each other and their families. Babysis loved David so much that she could call his name more than 20 times a day, and he would come running on each call. That was his Babe.

David and Fannie were married on August 27, 1983, and from this union of togetherness LaTasha Renee Woolfolk was born. As Babysis grew sick in her later years, going to dialysis and doctor appointments, her faith grew even stronger in the Lord. She never complained, just trusted God in her everyday living. She loved spending time with her family. When they all got together, it was so much laughter and fun. Together we were stronger, together we were broken, and together it was so much love.

Babysis was preceded in death by her parents, Fannie and Freddie Brooks, Sr., brothers Walter Garnett and Joseph Brooks “Jody,” sister Mary Ollie Taylor, nieces Patrice Ann Smith and Jacqueline Friday, nephews Andre Brooks, Cedric Carrington, Jr., Alvin Taylor, Randolph Taylor, Jr., and brother-in-law Wellington Woolfolk.

Babysis leaves her deep love and unforgettable memories to her beloved husband David of 40 years, her daughter LaTasha, and granddaughter Kymiah. She also leaves to cherish her three brothers: Freddie Brooks, Lee Brooks, and Charles Wayne Brooks; two sisters: Marie Wallace and Gladys B. Johnson; sisters-in-law Jackie Brooks, Leslie Brooks, Regina Mallory, Elaine Brooks, Joyce Spencer, Laverne Childs and Marion Jones; brothers-in-law: Stanley Johnson, Marvin Verter, Jerry Brown, Calvin Woolfolk and James Spencer; two aunts: Mary Garnett and Esther Holmes, and a host of numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved each one dearly. Babysis had many close friends to check on her constantly and daily. She greatly appreciated each and every one of them. One special cousin and friend who was very dear to her heart and whom she talked with two to three times a day was Vernell Holmes and a special niece whom she loved as a granddaughter was Malia Brooks. Babysis had a special love and appreciation for her caregiver Jackie Jones.

God gave Babysis the gift of sending so much kindness, love and joy to everyone she met. When she saw you, she would always greet you with a wave of the hand and “hi, how are you doing?” We may not see her wave again here on earth, but she will be waving to us from Heaven.
