Estelle Coleman

Estelle Coleman daughter of the late Joseph and Eveline Johnson was born June 25, 1925 in Essex Co. She departed this life into peaceful rest on March 31, 2003 at Mary Washington Hospital after a long illness. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Hustle, Virginia later in life after moving to Bowling Green, Virginia. She became a Watchcare member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she attended until her health began to fail. She was joined in holy matrimony to the late George William Welch from this union four children were born. After his death she met and married the late Ernest Coleman. She received her education in the Essex School system. Estelle has always been a dynamic homemaker,raising big gardens, cooking special meals for her family, and always willing to help anyone in need. She leaves to cherish her memory , four daughters Elaine Carpenter, Bowing Green, Sherita Latney, Bowling Green, Delores Adegbehingbe, Washington, DC, and Arlene Bundy, Richmond, Virginia. Ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Three brothers, William H. Johnson, Tapp.Va, Malachi A. Johnson, Bowling Green, and Edward Johnson, Tapp. Va. One sister-in-law Gladys Johnson. Two son-in-laws, Milton Carpenter and Cleveland Bundy.A devoted companion Wilbur Childs of Bowling Green, Va. Special extented family Roscoe and Mary Childs, Wayne and Shirley Childs, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
