Emma J Purce

Emma Jeanette Peyton Purce was born on January 7, 1953 to the late Donald Maurice Peyton and Betty Lou Peyton in King George, VA. Emma was educated in King George County at Ralph Bunche High School. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and joined Good Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Ralph E. Cabbell where she served until her health failed.
Emma was joined in holy matrimony to the late Larry Noble Purce, Sr. on May 14, 1971 in LA Plata, MD. Over the years, Emma has several occupations including warehouse worker at both White Packing and Keller Industries, adult care giver, running a daycare and finally retiring as a manager at Family Dollar.
Emma departed this life on May 13, 2016 surrounded by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Donald Peyton; mother, Betty Peyton; Husband, Larry Purce, Sr. and grandchildren, Jasmine Keyes and Andrew Layne, Jr.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her children, Sheryl Childs (Kenneth), Larry Purce, Jr. (Tonya), Angela Layne (Andrew), Darnell Purce, and Casandra Purce; siblings Violet Wright Davis (Eddie), Phyllistine Peyton, Brenda Middelton, Bertha Bushrod, Donald Peyton, Jr., Sterling Peyton (Harriet), Marjorie Ashton (Avon), Charles Peyton, William Peyton (Valerie) and Joseph Peyton (Carina); grandchildren Devon Keyes, Sabrina Purce, Larry Purce lll, Jaquan Purce, Mylahsia Purce, Amia Layne, Amir Purce and Armand Purce; god-son Andre Peyton, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and her special companion Theodore Lomax.
