Emily Rae Thomas was born on July 25, 1948 in Port Royal, Virginia. She was greeted in Heaven by her mother, the late Mrs. Bernice T. Johnson. Emily attended Union High School in Bowling Green, Virginia. She worked more than twenty years at the Rappahannock Rehabilitation Center, where she was entrusted to safely transport handicapped passengers to and from their residences. Affectionately known as "Rae", she was avid listener of Rhythm and Blues music and especially enjoyed fishing, cooking, being a Grandmother, participating in weekend socials and spending time with her special friend, Norma Jean. She was an active member of First Baptist Amber in King George at the time of her passing. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving father, Luther "Que" Johnson, Sr., five children, John H. Thomas Jr. (Benja), Josephine T. Woodard, Paul A, Thomas (Marion), Kevin L. Thomas (Christina), Diamond L. Taylor (William); three siblings, Luther F. Johnson Jr. (Renee), Ruth J. Johnson, Lloyd N. Johnson, Sr. (Adreka); Fourteen grandchildren, Tiauna, Tamera, Charles, Felicia, Cortez, Jeffery, Stephon, Nyah, Paulniesha, Jamaica, Ira, John, Lamara, Amber, Mikey, Melinda, and Brittany. Two great-grandchildren, Sariah and Marquis; and a host of aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
