On July 27th, 2010, Elsie Lavern Clatterbuck, Our beloved "Mother", The Queen of Our Heart, The stabilizer of our family, The Giver of Love, The Proverbs 31 woman drifted into eternal sleep at the age of seventy five.
Born in King George County, Virginia on April 17, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Thelma and Clarence Burroughs.
She attended Cardoza High, and later married James "Sonny" Clatterbuck who preceded her in death. Out of that union were five children; Eric, Antonio, and Tracy. Rodney and Delphine preceded her in death.
In her early years she visited various churches with her mother and later joined St Stephens Baptist Church, King George, VA. Elsie served as the president of the flower club, and member of the Missionary club and other ministries. She exceeded 30 years employment for John A. Shiebel, Inc and retired. Elsie also loved having company and friends visit for short or long periods and loved helping people. Individuals were always welcome to stay with her as the need arose. Anyone seeing Elsie would definitely and consistently witness a beautiful smile. The smile signified her love for people.
Those left to cherish her memories are three sons, Eric Clatterbuck of Temple Hills, MD, Antonio and Tracy Clatterbuck of King George, VA; two grandsons, Andre Scott of Fredericksburg, VA, and Reese Clatterbuck of Dale City, VA; one Great grandson, Alijah Scott of Fredericksburg, VA, God Daughter Carolyn Boxley; several nieces, nephews, Sister-in-Laws and other relatives; a Devoted friend, Ethel Boxley, Devoted Sister-in Law, Helen White, and Devoted nephew Anthony Minter who untiringly assisted with her care.
