Ellen Byrd Minor

Ellen B. Minor, age 73 (affectionately known as "Sugar" to her family). She entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Mack and Jane Lewis Minor. At an early age she accepted Christ and joined Third Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Woodford, Virginia but later rededicated her life to Christ by joining the True Deliverance Church of God in Bowling Green, Virginia.

She was a domestic worker for over 35 years before retiring in June 2009. Ellen enjoyed spending time with her family, talking about the bible and the goodness of the Lord but her one true passion was cooking. She would tell you quickly, "I don't like anyone at my feet when I'm in the kitchen."

She leaves to cherish her memories: son, David (Mary) of Spotsylvania, one daughter, Shelia Minor Tyler of Ruther Glen, and son, Wayne of the home; two sisters, Mary Ann Minor of Maryland, Maria Minor of the home and brother, Edward Minor of Washington, D.C.; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other close relatives and friends. She was preceded by a brother, James J. Minor and son, Thomas A. Minor.
