Edward Byrd, son of the late Frank and Otha Byrd was born March 04, 1939 in Essex County, VA. On December 30, 2012, at Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg, VA, Edward finished his earthly duties and peacefully passed into eternal rest with the Lord.
Affectionately known as "Tye" by his family and friends he received his education from the public school system of Westmoreland County, VA. He accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age and united with The Grants Hill Baptist Church, Leedstown, VA.
During his life's journey Tye worked on various jobs including Ingleside Plantation Nursery, King George Public School System and Colonial Beach Discount Store. Tye was a happy quiet individual. He enjoyed playing baseball, dancing, fishing, watching sports on television and he loved music.
He leaves to cherish fond memories; one son Ronnie of Colonial Beach, VA, one sister; Beatrice Berry (William), Fort Washington, MD, four brothers; Charles (Alberta), Thomas (Rosa Marie), Milton, and his twin Everette (Rosa Ella), all of Colonial Beach, VA, three grandchildren; Naomi and Devin of Montross, VA and Monica of Colonial Beach, VA, three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, two devoted nieces; Ella Powden and Stephanie Jackson both of Bladensburg, MD. A special devoted friend Eddie Logan along with two of his next door neighbors; Christine and Judy of Meadow's Apartments, a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
