We are placed in this world for a limited time, and with the breath of the infant begins the race to the grave. On Tuesday night, December 30, 2003 the death angels came to the Hartford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, Md. and bore the spirit of Eddie Williams, Jr. away to a land that is free from the sorrows of this world.
He was born February 26, 1947 in King, Mississippi to the late Eddie Williams Sr. and the late Ruth Williams Miller. He graduated from Crane High School in Chicago, Il. and later joined the United States Navy in 1965 where he served for 11 years. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he was employed at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren, Va. and then went to Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen, Md. He had 37 years of Government employment.
His hobbies were listening to all types of music and barbecuing. Eddie's love was his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Leola Penion and Linda Williams, both were from Chicago, Il. He leaves to cherish his memory, a step-father, Willie Miller Sr. of Chicago, Il; companion, Donna Johnson of Churchville, Md., ex-wife, Sylvia E. Beverly of Dahlgren, Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Aretha A. Williams Walton of Dahlgren, Va.; one son, Eddie Williams III of Churchville, Md.; three grandchildren, Thomas Demetrius Washington, Sylvia Symone Washington, both of Dahlgren, Va. and Makayla Tinisha Williams of Churchville, Md.; one son-in-law, Ernest Floyd Walton of Dahlgren, Va.; one brother, Rev.Willie Miller, Jr. of Chicago, Il.; seven sisters, Lydia Abercrombie, Shirley Brown, Joyce Shapiro, Brenda Miller, Ruth Anderson, 2 brothers-in-law, William Shapiro and John Anderson both of Chicago, Il.; one sister-in-law, Barbara Miller of Chicago, Il.; a friend, Curtis Salley of Chicago, Il.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
