To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven, a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted.
Eddie Mansfield Harris, 69, of Ruther Glen was called to eternal glory on Thursday May 8, 2003, after a long illness. He was born to the late Lennie and Mary E. Harris on May 23, 1933 in Ruther Glen, Va.
Mr. Harris had retired as a plant operator for Blue Plains Wastewater Treatment Plant in Washington D.C. He attended Caroline County Plubic Schools. He accepted Christ as his saviour at an early age and became a member of St. Luke Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Laura ''Be Be'' Harris; a son, Michael Harris; three daughters, Rose Peyton, Cathy and Angel Harris, all of Ruther Glen; three sisters, Alvester Myers and Adell Scott of Maryland, and Lucille Martin of Bowling Green, Va.; two brothers, Lenwood Harris of Ruther Glen, Va. and Richard Harris of Washington D.C.; three grandchildren, Stacy Harris, Brandon Spurrel, and Amber Norman.
God saw the road was geting rough, the hills to hard to climb, so he closed your weary eyes and whispered ''Peace be thine''
