Earl Cornelius Minor

Earl Cornelius Minor, the older son of the late William and Earlean Brawner was born on October 3, 1940 in Caroline County. He entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 1, 2004 at Mary Washington Hospital.

He was educated in the Caroline County Public School System. During his tenure at Union High School, he enjoyed attending school and was an achiever.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age at the Mt. Oni Baptist Church and was a faithful member until 1960.

Upon his graduation, Earl moved to Washington, D. C. and was employed by Maurice Electric Supply Company. During his tenure at the electric supply company, he met his wife, Dorothy of thirty years. They were blessed with four children. Shortly after their union, Earl joined the U. S. Government Printing Office in 1968. He retired in 1999 from the Government Printing Office in Washington, D. C., after 31 years. He was a Deacon at Third Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Woodford, where he was President of the Hospitality Committee and a member of the Male Chorus.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Minor of Ruther Glen; a son Earl C. Minor, Jr. of Ruther Glen; three daughters, Debra Johnson and her husband, Derrick, and Robin Minor, all of Ruther Glen, and Diona Minor of forestiville, Md.; five grandchildren; and a brother, William J. Brawner of Washington, D. C.
