Douglas A. Gaines

Douglas Andrew Gaines entered into eternal rest on December 17, 2011 at MCV Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. He was born to the late Charles Curtis and Clara Reese Gaines on May 27, 1965 in Richmond, Virginia.

Douglas attended Essex County School and also King William High school where he graduated. He also attended the Northern Neck Center in Warsaw, Virginia until his health began to fail.

Douglas loved to attend church whenever he could; he also loved to listen to music, dance and smile. He had a wonderful, loving spirit and was always ready to give you a hug and smile. Douglas will be dearly missed, but God knows best.

He is preceded in death by his two brothers, William Henry Gaines and John Gaines and one sister, Ella Mae Howard.

He leaves to cherish fond memories two brothers; Nathan Adam Gaines, Sr. (Gloria) of Hustle, Virginia, Charles Curtis Gaines, Jr. (Julia) of Chance, Virginia, and one sister Clara Christine Gaines of Hustle, Virginia; one aunt Ellen Sayles, three nieces; Victoria M. Gaines, Aleisa Mae Howard and Latanya Gaines, three nephews, Nathan Adam Gaines, Jr., William Darnell Howard and John Glen Howard, two great nieces, Destiny Howard and Nya Gaines, three great nephews; Demetrius Howard, Damian Holmes and Braxton Gaines, Douglas had two devoted friends and Caregivers; Annie Howie and Angela Bundy and a host of other relatives and friends.
