Dorothy Mae Washington

June 9, 1942 — April 7, 2017

Dorothy Mae Washington

Dorothy Mae Washington (Dot) was born on June 9, 1942 to the late Spencer and Ruth Whiting. She was called home peacefully on April 7, 2017 at Mary Washington Healthcare.

Dorothy attended Ralph Bunche High school in King George, Virginia. She accepted her Lord and Savior and joined Salem Baptist Church where Leonard G. Bland is the pastor. Dorothy served on the kitchen committee, sung in the Senior choir for many years, and participated in other church activities.

She was married to Lloyd Washington Jr. for fifty-five years, and with this union, God blessed them with six sons, Bobby, Kerry, Keith(Yolanda), Tony(Rhonda), Damone, and Mark, four daughters, Tina, Pamela, Nicole(Cebron), and Tracy, twenty grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one special son Charles Cole (Charlie). She also leaves behind three sisters, Winnie Pryor, Gladys Pryor, and Mabel Yancey.

As a divine, virtuous woman of God, she enjoyed reading the Holy Bible, which always put a smile on her face. She was the neighborhood mom that always welcomed children with open arms and a loving heart. Her mission was to feed the people and have an encouraging word while on this journey. She took the time to carefully prepare us all for this day and we are all thankful that we had the honor of taking care of her. Love you Mom.
