Dorothy E. Johnson

Dorothy “Dottie” (Bland) Johnson, age 83, of King George, VA, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, in King George, VA. She was born on August 10, 1941, in Fredericksburg, VA, to the late James and Clara Bland, of King George, VA.

She was a devoted mother to three children: Lawrence Johnson, Jr., who preceded her in death in June 2013; Janice Johnson, of Los Angeles, CA; and Christopher Johnson, of Lompoc, CA. She was also a very proud and loving grandmother to Andre Johnson, of King George, VA.

Dorothy is survived by her four younger siblings: Eleanor Norris, of Waldorf, MD; William Bland (Laurie) of King George, VA; JoAnne Barnes, of Houston, TX; and Joan Freeman (Alfred), of Houston, TX. She also leaves behind a host of beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

A faithful member of the Restoration Worship Center in King George, VA, since 2012, Dorothy’s kindness and devotion to her faith touched many lives. She had a lifelong passion for reading and writing, even authoring a children's book.

At her request, there will be no service. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
