Dennis Clayton Jones

Dennis C. Jones affectionately known as DJ “Lil Woody” was born March 24, 1961 to the late Isabel H. Jones and Daniel L. Jones in Fredericksburg, VA. Dennis accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at MT. Olivet Church in Washington, D.C. Dennis received his formal education in Great Mills Maryland and graduated from Great Mills High School in 1980.

Dennis was a family oriented person that loved to play jokes on people, especially when it came to those Redskins. He enjoyed watching the Redskins play and took pleasure in calling a Cowboy fan to taunt them when they lost a game, however, he would never answer the phone when the Redskins lost. He was a mastermind in creating memes of Cowboy fans by placing Redskin faces and skirts on them. His favorite past time was playing sequence and eating. He could he eat like a champion.

He was preceded in death by his mother Isabel Jones; two sisters Cora Jackson and Stephanie Jackson and brother Davie Jones. Dennis leaves to cherish his memories: Daniel Jones (Agnes) of Colonial Beach, VA; George Jackson (Sonia) of Spotsylvania, VA; Ella Plowden of Bladensburg, MD; Joseph Jackson Sr. (Donna) of Colonial Beach, VA; Kevin Jackson (Karen) of Spotsylvania, Virginia; Charles Jones (Mamie) of Clinton, MD; Raymond Jones (Annie) of Colonial Beach, VA; Carleen James (Douglas) of Fort Washington, MD and two sisters-in-law Annette Jones of Richmond, VA; Jackie Berry of Fredericksburg, VA. One greataunt Alberta Byrd of Colonial Beach, VA; four aunts Roberta Hickman of Washington, DC; Thelma Saunders (Melvin), Rosemarie Byrd (Thomas) and Evelyn Cox all of Colonial Beach, VA; five uncles Marvin Jones (Ella Mae), William Jones, Moses Jones, Joseph Jones Sr. (Sara) all of Colonial Beach, VA and Raymond Jones (Sue) of Stafford, VA. Fifteen nieces and fifteen nephews, two that have gone home to be with our heavenly father, Davie “Twan” Jones and Orlando Jackson. A host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Life long friends include, Betty Thompson, Naomi Fortune, and Theresa Frye.
