Delbert ''Louie'' Johnson departed this life to be with the Lord on Friday, November 9, 2007 at his residence in King George, Virginia.
He was born on June 6, 1941 in Pittsville, Virginia to the late Haywood Johnson and Nannie Coles Johnson.
He moved to Waldorf, Maryland at the age of 17 where he cut cordwood for about three years. After, he was a loyal employee at Arundel Asphalt Company for 35 years. He was also the owner of Accokeek Asphalt for six years until his retirement in 2001.
Louie was a man that everyone wanted to be around, his friendly spirit and sweet smile was contagious. Louie was a man that never met a stranger. He has a heart of compassion for people, always willing to lend a helping hand or do whatever necessary to help someone in need.
He had a limited education, but was a great teacher. He continually spread his words of wisdom and taught life lessons. Louie has a passion for many things to include cooking, fishing, cheering on the Washington Redskins and Wizards.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Robin Y. Johnson on July 19, 2002. They shared many sentimental and joyous moments.
He was a devoted husband, wonderful father and loyal friend.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Robin Y. Johnson; three daughters, Clara Vines(Derrick), Angela Tibbs(George) and Ashley Johnson; two sons, Gregory and Michael Johnson; three step-daughters, Dana, Danielle and Donna Johnson; one step-son, Derek Cooper; fourteen grandchildren; six brothers, Neshiel W. Johnson(Sally), Frank D. Johnson(Mary), Oynaks ''Babe'' Johnson(Elaine), Clevester ''Ray'' Johnson(Florence),James Johnson and Calvin Johnson; seven sisters, Hattie Witcher(Edgar), Gracie Peyton(Francis), Jackie Anderson (Donnell), Billie J. Washington, Mary Burger(Louis), Rosa Witcher and Roxanne Johnson; father-in-law, Moses A. Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
