Deacon Wilson T. Jefferson

Deacon Wilson Turner Jefferson, beloved son of the late Deacon Charles W. and Mae Ella Jefferson was born on August 1, 1918.

He departed this life to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Memorial Regional Hospital, Mechanicsville, Virginia.

He was educated in the Port Conway Public School System, King George, Virginia.

He retired from Simpson Construction Company in Alexandria, Virginia.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to Irene Ruth Whiting and celebrated sixty-six glorius years together. The union blessed them with six sons and three daughters.

He accepted Christ at an early age, and joined the Salem Baptist Church. He served faithfully until his death.

He loved gardening, interactively engaging with family and friends, playing dominoes with his family and friends, participating in bible study with his sons every Thursday, and most of all he loved the Lord.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Everette Jefferson, Clifton Jefferson and Rev. Bernard Jefferson; and one granddaughter, Angela Peyton.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife Irene, six sons, Kelly (Ernestine), Wilson D.(Barbara), Harold(Pamela) of Fort Washington, Maryland, Oliver(Brenda) and Clifton ''Stanley''(Adrian) of Temple Hills, Maryland and Darrell of King George, Virginia; three daughters, Marva(Hugh Leon), Julia(Perry), Phyllis(Willie) all of King George, Virginia; one brother, Floyd Jefferson of Stafford, Virginia; one sister, Iantha J. Smith of Suitland, Maryland; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; seven sisters-in-law, Blanche Jefferson, Winnie B. Pryor, Gladys Pryor, Dorothy Washington, Mabel Yancey, Estelle Bumbrey and Helen Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
