Deacon William Roscoe Johnson

Deacon William "Roscoe" Johnson was born on September 1, 1932 to the late Robert and Corine Jeter Johnson in Caroline County, Virginia; he departed this life on April 4, 2012 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Roscoe as he was affectionately known attended Caroline County Public Schools, after graduating he served four years in the United States Marine Corp. He was employed by the federal government at Ft. A.P. Hill, Virginia for 25 years until his retirement in 1989, after retiring he opened Johnson's Pest Control and Termite Services in which he owned and operated for over 40 years until his death.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and personal Savior at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee for several years and he then became a Deacon in May 2010.
He is preceded in death by his son Walter "Randy" Johnson on July 16, 1996, two brothers, Robert "Honnie' Johnson, Jr., and Walter Johnson, and one sister Mildred Johnson of New Jersey.

Roscoe leaves to mourn his devoted wife Myrtle of 50 years, his sons Julian "Cookie" (Veronica) of Spotsylvania County, Virginia, and William "Darnel" Johnson (Polly) of Caroline County, Virginia;4 grandchildren Darnel, Jr., Kristina, Danita and Brittany Johnson and 3 great-grandchildren, Zaniyah, Genesis, and Skylar, 4 sisters, Charlotte Hagood of Silver Spring, Maryland, Ellen Pritchett (John) of Pennsauken, New Jersey, Adelle John of Richmond, Virginia and Phyllis Johnson of Richmond, Virginia; 2 brothers, Curtis Johnson (Diane) of Essex County, Virginia, and Francis Johnson of Camden, New Jersey, devoted friend and brother-in-law Marvin Pitts, 3 sisters-in-law Pauline Vaughn Pitts, Lillian Vaughn Williams, and Gladys Vaughn, , and a host of neices, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who always put family first.
