Deacon George W. Stuart

Deacon George W. Stuart, born to the late James and Ida Stuart, on September 29, 1912, departed this life on January 17, 2007. He accepted Christ and became a member of St. Stephens Baptist Church, where he served God and his church, as a Trustee and Deacon faithfullly until his health failed. George was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Simon, James and Thomas and five sisters, Mary, Ida Bell, Minnie, Emma, and Elizabeth.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving wife of 64 years, Alberta Stuart; four loving daughters, Mary E. Curtis, Helen M. Gross, Gloria J. Jones, and Laura D. Steward; and one son who preceded him in death, Milton Parker, one son-in-law, Ethel Parker, nine loving grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren each posessing his characteristics; one Godson, George Ward, four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Laura Holmes, Mrs. Dorothy Johnson, Mrs. Clara Ward, and Mrs. Georgia Frazier; three brothers-in-law, Mr. Charles Frazier, Mr. Nelson Frye, and Mr. Robert Johnson, one dear friend, Mrs. Eliza Coakley; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
