Davie E. Jones, affectionately known as "King Fish" was born February 4, 1952 in Westmoreland County to Daniel & Isabell Jones. He departed this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C. after a lengthy illness.
Davie was educated in the Westmoreland County Public School System. He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Little Zion Baptist Church and was a loyal listener on the Little Zion Baptist Church Prayer line. He was employed by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren VA where he retired.
Davie was well known and loved by all he came in contact with. He loved to talk on the phone. All of his family and friends could expect daily phone calls from him just to keep up with the latest news. He was called the local news reporter. Davie loved to spend time watching his favorite soap opera, "Days of Our Lives." He was also an avid drag racing fan.
Davie was preceded in death by his son Antwan Jones.
He leaves to cherish fond memories; wife, Annette; one son, Travis Jones, Richmond, VA; his father, Daniel Jones (Agnes) of Colonial Beach; his mother, Isabell Jones, of Lexington Park, MD; six brothers, Charles Jones (Louise), Clinton MD, Raymond Jones (Annie), Colonial Beach VA, Dennis Jones, Lexington Park MD, George Jackson, Fredericksburg VA, Joseph Jackson (Donna), Colonial Beach VA, Kevin Jackson (Karen), Fredericksburg VA; six sisters, Carleen James (Douglas), Ft. Washington MD, Ella Plowden and Stephanie Jackson, Bladensburg MD, Janet Waddy (Harold), Richmond VA, Robyn Cobb, King George, VA and Sonja Carr (William), Riverdale MD; one grandson, Ne'Twan Jones; one granddaughter, Ne'Vaeh Jones; five uncles, Marvin Jones (Ella), William Jones, Moses Jones (Joyce) of Colonial Beach VA, Raymond Jones (Jean), Stafford VA, Joseph Jones (Sarah), King George VA; five aunts, Thelma Saunders (Melvin), Mary Alice Green, Rose Marie Byrd (Thomas), Victoria Cox, all of Colonial Beach VA, Roberta Henry, Washington D.C.; three special cousins, Lula Clayton, Jacksonville FL, Lavern Porter, Capital Heights MD, Barbara Mohammad, Colonial Beach, VA; a special sister-in law, Jackie Berry, Fredericksburg VA; special friends, Timothy Jett, King George VA, David Roy, Montross VA, and a host of other relatives and friends.
