Daffie Lee Robinson Sr. was born on June 30, 1935 to the late George Montague and Lavennia Robinson. "Rob" as he was affectionately known was raised by his Godmother Mrs. Nanny Jackson.
Early in life Rob accepted life at St. John Baptist Church. Later he became a member of Beluah Baptist and in his later years he joined New Site where he attended faithfully until his health began to fail him.
He attended Caroline County Public Schools. He left school to work and had many jobs in the Fredericksburg area. He then joined the U.S. Air Force where he served in many different areas. After him Honorable Discharge, he worked for the U.S. Navy and U.S Government. He was a long distance trucker for the Navy which he left for a few years to start his own trucking business Robinson's trucking. Later he went back to drive for the Navy and work for the Government. Rob retired in 1989 after twenty five years of faithful service.
In 1999 he met his future wife Arethia Harris. Since they didn't get it right the first time, God crossed their paths a year later in 2000. They have been inseparable until his death on Sunday, July 6, 2014 when God took him home. On November 23, 2005 they were married by the late Dr. Rev. E.L. Jones at his home. They were the last couple that Rev.Jones married and that was very special to them. That love grew stronger over the years and as their health failed them they grew more protective of each other. They were a joy to be around and people let them know it.
After taking her husband home and telling him she will be alright, her loving husband went home to with God. He leave to cherish and honor his precious memory his devoted loving wife Arethia Robinson; his devoted daughter Ann Martin of West, VA who stuck by her father till the end, Daphanie Robinson of Maryland and one son Daffie L. Robinson, Jr. of Washington D.C.; two step children- TaShauna Harris of Richmond, VA and Sgt. Elderick "Derick" Harris of Ruther Glen, VA; step grandsons- Roshun Patterson, Anthony Jones (Trey), Mikal Harris and Xavier Harris; Mother-in-Law Ada Harris of Shumansville, VA; One brother-in-law Rodney K. Harris of Bowling Green, VA; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews devoted Alvin Robinson, Alphonsa Jackson, Julie Ann Jackson and Larry Lucas.
The family was to thank the following: Med. Home Health, Medi Home Health, Hospice, Caregivers, Spotsylvania Regional Hospital (3rd floor ICU) Carollogy of Fredericksburg (Dr. Baneryee & Howell), Alphonsa and Wayne Jackson, Rodney and Derick Harris, and Ms. Della.
