Clyde Edwin Tyler (Ray) passed of natural causes on May 21, 2023 at Deanwood Rehabilitation & Wellness Center in Washington, DC. He was born in King George, VA on September 7, 1938 to the late Maggie Williams and the late Sammy Jordan. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepfather William P. Williams; four sisters: Mary Tyler, Frances Johnson, Josephine Cherry, Earlene Shellings; two brothers: Elmore Tyler and Earl Williams; and dear friend and caregiver George Johnson.
Clyde lost his sight at an early age but attended Ralph Bunche High School through the 11th grade. After leaving Ralph Bunche High School, Clyde worked on the Naval Weapons Station at Dahlgren, VA. His sight may not have been good, but he sure would ride his bike back and forth to work. His sister Diane used to tell him on Fridays to not take her home because she wanted to go to bingo. He would put her on the bike with him and up the road they went.
Clyde relocated to Washington, DC in his early adult life. He was known to have the home where all were welcomed with a fresh made meal, prepared by him, and genuine laughter and fellowship. Clyde did not miss a beat with obtaining and retaining updates on everyone he knew. He truly loved his family and friends and will be missed tremendously.
Clyde leaves to mourn his passing, four brothers: William C. Williams Sr. (Jackie), Vernon Williams, Ralph Williams (Janice), Wayne Williams; three sisters: Phyllis Johnson (James), Christine Johnson, and Lorraine Peyton; Godson Edwin Williams Sr.; devoted niece Alicia Parks; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friend.
