On Monday, September 18, 2017 at 9:00 pm God whispered to his child, A job well done and received Christine Johnson into his kingdom her treasures had been stored and her salvation secured with a gentle breath and a heart felt goodbye to her family.
Christine was born June 23, 1934 to the late Gracie and Lester Sanders. She attended school in Pittsylvania County, Virginia. In 1948 she moved to Danville, Virginia where she met and married James BT Hale and from that union five children were born. She worked as a waitress helping to support her family. In later years her health began to decline and she retired from Social Security Administrations early.
Christine was a child of God she loved the Lord. She gave herself to Christ and joined Faith Tabernacle Christian Baptist Church. She was awarded several certificates of recognition for devotion and for her services. She was always volunteering her time for whatever was needed. Her church family loved her and she loved them, “Mother Johnson” is what they called her. They enjoyed her cakes that she made from out of those big old black skillet pans. Cooking was something she enjoyed doing.
Christine had a heart of gold and there was nothing she wouldn’t do for you, but if you crossed her you her you would be sorry and she didn’t have a problem telling you how she felt. She spoke was on her min and didn’t care who liked it or not. Everyone that knew her, know that about and they loved her. In recent months her health was declining fast, she could no longer live on her own. Her daughter cared for her until her passing.
