Obituary

On Thursday morning June 8, 2006, our dear love one, Chester Linwood Booker, departed this life after a brief illness. Chester was born on November 24, 1910 in Newton, Virginia to the late Robert & Julia Burton Booker. He went to live with his daughter in Clinton, Maryland in 2001.

He accepted Christ and joined First Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Newtown, Virginia. He was joined in holy matrimony to the late Mary Broaddus Booker who preceded him in death June1, 2000. He continued to attend Church until his health began to fail. Chester was employed for Brooks & Son Trucking in Tappahannock, Virginia. He also worked for the Red Furniture Store in Aylette, Virginia.

Chester was a loving devoted father and grandfather. Chester is survived by his daughter, Doris Griffin of Clinton, Maryland; one sister-in-law Lillie Fortune of Newtown, Virginia. Three grandchildren, Cheryl, Cynthia, and Joseph all of Washington, D.C. and Maryland; eight great grandchildren and fourteen great, great grandchildren; one son-in-law, Willie Griffin, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.
