Charles L. Pratt, Sr.

Charles L. Pratt, Sr. affectionately known as ''Marty'' was born September 26, 1969 in Fredericksburg, Virginia to Charles J. and Joyce C. Pratt. He peacefully departed this life on August 8, 2005 at the home of his parents.

At an early age he accepted Christ and joined Good Hope Baptist Church in King George under the pastorate of Rev. George Fitzgerald. He was a 1987 graduate of King George High School.

Marty was employed by the City of Fredericksburg as a Traffic Assistant for seven years and later in life went to work for R. C. Lee Carpet in Fredericksburg for over the past ten years. He had a special love for good literature and the Pittsburgh Steelers and loved to cook. He also had a special compassionate love for his son, ''C.J.''. Marty had earned a great respect by his peers, they often consulted for advice or even just a good laugh.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his parents, Deacon Charles J. and Deaconess Joyce C. Pratt of King George; his son, Charles L. Pratt, Jr. ''C.J.'' of King George; two brothers, Joey Lee of Dahlgren, Marcus Pratt (Alexis) of Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Jawanda Lee of Fredericksburg, Sherri Pratt-Turner (Sgt.
