Charles Holmes

Charles Holmes was born April 11,1962 to the late Cleaver (Bott) and Shirley Ann Holmes. He is Preceded in death by a brother Edward (Valentine) Holmes. Charles departed his life at home on September 21,2021.
Charles, also known as Beaver, Beve, or Doc by family and friends received Christ at an early age. He received his education through the King and Queen County School System. In Late 1997 he met Latanya Newbill whom he called “Doll” or “Booty”, and 3 years later, May 27,2000, they were married by Rev. Fred Holmes.
Beve loved to cook, go fishing, watching westerns and wrestling, and talking to his long-time buddies. You could find him riding around town with his buddy Levi Vaughan, together they were called “The Blues Brothers”. No matter the season he loved cooking beans and pig feet/pig tails and he always had dinner ready for his wife when she got home from work.
Beaver worked as a skitter driver for logging companies for many years until his disability. He then became a house husband, still doing all the things he loved. Beaver had 4 special people in his life: Ranaz (RayRay) Newbill, Michael Stewart, Shawn Myers, and Azairia Hines. He treated them as if they were his own.
He leaves fond memories with 2 sisters : Tracy Speight and Cynthia Lindsey; 7 brothers: Robert (Donna), Larry, Otis, Cleaver, James, Joseph (Nancy) and Steve; 1 aunt: Marjorie Clark; 4 uncles: Travis, James, Bobby (Glossie) and Arthur (Janet); 1 brother-in-law Calvin Newbill; 1 sister-in-law Dalenia Johnson as well as host of nieces, nephews, and cousins
