Charles E. Davis

Charles Elwood Davis, affectionately known as "Dodie" entered into eternal life on October 9, 2008 at Inova Fairfax Hospital. Charles was born to Evelyn L. Davis-McDowney and the late Charles H. Davis on May 11, 1960.

Dodie joined Union Bethel Baptist Church in King George, Virginia at an early age. He later became a member of St. Stephens Baptist Church in King George and also attended Good Hope Baptist Church.

Dodie attended King George County Public Schools. He worked at NSWC in Dahlgren, Virginia until his health began to fail.

Dodie's favorite hobbies were fishing and hunting. He dearly loved animals, especially his dog, Raheem.

Dodie was joined in Holy matrimony to Valerie A. Brown on February 14, 1985. To this union, they were blessed with two children.

Dodie was preceded in death by his father, Charles H. Davis.

Dodie leaves to cherish his memory and life legacy, a loving and very devoted wife of 23 years, Valerie A. Davis of King George; two loving daughters, Tyana N. Brown and I'Esha M. Davis both of King George, Va.; one very special granddaughter, Amari N. Brown; his mother and stepfather, Evelyn and Veola McDowney of Ft. Washington, Md.; two sisters, Sharon Johnson(Charles) of Montross, Va and Melinda C. Gray of King George, Va.;one stepsister, Shelly Bivins(Tony) of Marriottsville, Md.; one brother, Vernon D. Davis(Marilyn) of Woodbridge, Va.; father-in-law, Herbert B. Brown of Dahlgren, Va.; sister-in-law, Deborah D. Davis(Charles) of King George, Va.; and brother-in-law, Herbert D. Brown of King George, Va; nine uncles; eight aunts, one special aunt, Shirley Johnson; nine nieces; eleven nephews; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
He also leaves special friends, Wayne Ashton, Nelson Frye, Ed Bailey and Charles(Tinman)Davis. His humble spirit and generous heart will be deeply missed by all.
